LIVE: 11th Annual Homelessness Marathon

The 11th annual Homelessness Marathon is now over. Thanks for tuning in and to all the great wolunteers and staff at CKUT 90.3FM in Montreal and community radio stations across the country. We'll post a link to the archives once we have it.

For the 11th year straight, Montreal's CKUT 90.3FM brings you the Homelessness Marathon. Broadcast live from 5pm Wed., Feb. 20th until 7am Thurs., Feb. 21, the Homelessness Marathon provides an opportunity for homeless people and their allies to take to the airwaves, and allows a nationwide discussion on homelessness issues and possible solutions.

Normally broadcast from the streets of Montreal, this year the marathon features two streams!

New this year is the stream you can listen to above: it's partially from Montreal, but also includes the collaboration of 11 other stations across the country who will be hosting their own live segments from the streets of their respective cities. They, along with over 20 other stations, will be carrying the marathon live. For the full list of broadcasters click here. (Scroll down to see the schedule.)

The other, which you can listen to here, is the CKUT Montreal broadcast, live from outside the Native Friendship Centre (corner of Ontario and St-Laurent). This stream will feature English and French content, mostly from Montreal. You can find the full CKUT schedule here.

You can also call in toll free to share your thoughts on homelessness and what you hear on the broadcast: 1-866-594-7729.
