The Facebook call-out said -

Influenced by the triumph of their fellow North African neighbours, the people of Libya have begun to protest against the regime of Colonel Muammar Al-Qaddafi. This tyrant has oppressed the entire nation during 40 years of rule.

Come out to victoria park, and stand in solidarity with the people of Libya. The regime has already killed 150 protesters, and been more ruthless than Ben Ali or Mubarak. I guess that's because they know the end is near.

Please bring posters. and flags.

Although the Libyan struggles received more attention in the call-out and on the ground, the rally was about all of the ongoing Middle Eastern uprisings -- and justice, freedom, and democracy in general.
