Activist Roger Clement's Parole Conditions Lessened
Roger Clement was sentenced in 2010 for his part in the firebombing of a Royal Bank branch in Ottawa. He was released in March 2013, with parole conditions that had originally prevented him from 'participating in groups or events propagating anarchist ideology, anti-Establishment ideology or civil disobedience'.
But on Nov. 26 the parole board of Canada removed those restrictions because '"Such vague language...could result in an unacceptable infringement of your rights as a Canadian citizen," .
However, he is restricted from 'furthering the actions of individuals, groups or movements "advocating violence" to achieve their aims.' and associating with people involved in criminal activity as well as a short list of specific activists.
