Police shut down pots and pans in London

A small group of activist and regular folk got together on Monday June 4th to bang some pots and pans at the corner of Dundas and Richmond St. The group stayed on the sidewalk and were joined by people passing by. The London police department came to inform the people that they have to stop, or face consequences. The group of protesters put down the pots and pans and started to clap and sing instead, then the police drove off.

The intemadation from the London police force is not new, activist have been harrased, followed and targeted by the London police recently. On May 29th London held it's first "pots and pans" rally and the police not only attempted to stop the rally, but endangered the saftey of the activist involved by maneuvering the cars in a dangerous manner.  The bike officer can clearly be seen forcing the cars to stop in the path of the people marching on the streets. And at the end of the rally 2 protesters were arrested in the park.

Today June 5th is Londons large rally, we will see if the police keep up the level of intemadation and continue to jeopardize the safety of citizens they are supposed to protect.
