This morning, (Dec 1) RCMP hed a noon press conference at the RCMP detachment at the airport in Toronto detailing a criminal investigation pertaining to national security. The Press conference was announced on Saturday with no details other than that it related to major investigation that was a 'coordinated effort by RCMP-led Integrated National Security Enforcement Teams (INSETs) in Toronto.'.

I watched the Global TV Livestream of the event.

It concerned 53 year old Qing Quentin Huang who worked for Lloyd's Register Canada Ltd., who are subcontracted to Irving Shipbuilding Inc., a major manufacturer of key vessels for the Canadian Navy.  Huang is said to have attempted to sell classified information related to "Canadian shipbuilding procurement strategy." to China.

This story may be of interest to those following the recent job action taken by workers at Irving in Halifax.
