So much to learn about respecting one another,

About respecting other creatures,

About respecting the planet,

About giving each sacred component of life (like Water, and Air, and Earth) the respect each deserves.

So different from respecting authority and power.

And yet I have seen the weakest persevere against odds too great to imagine,

Against deep, impenetrable walls of darkness and cold.

To find that the great tides of all the elements of the universe (even darkness itself)

Were always on their side

So life can never be quenched by fear run amok.

To you dear little blade of green

I sing my song of utterly unhinged joy and hope

For the new dawn.

Dedicated to First Nations everywhere whose wisdom many political leaders seem to insist on forgetting and devaluing but will help us to evolve collectively.
