#noDAPL Solidarity Rally in Regina held Nov 3

On Thursday Nov 3, around 4:30 PM there was a  support rally in Regina for Standing Rock water protectors against the Dakota Access Pipeline, beginning with a meetup and discussion in Victoria Park near the cenotaph, then relocating to the corner of the park at Victoria and Scarth.

Once on the corner, the group of around 15 people started crossing back and forth across Victoria and Scarth, at first in compliance with traffic signals as more people arrived and joined. Once there was close to 30 people, we began intermittently holding in place on the crosswalk for a minute or so at a time.

The idea was to obstruct people long enough to get the point across without delaying anyone for more than a minute.

Throughout the action, the megaphone was passed to whoever had something to say, some relayed information from the ground in Standing Rock, others related it to the ongoing pipeline spill crisis closer to home in Saskatchewan's north, others started chants such as 'Water is life'.
