The theme is Educating Each Other for Empowerment!  Featured speakers include Yvonne Chiu of the Multi-cultural Health Brokers' Co-op, and Rebecca Kemble of the Union Cab Co-op of Madison, Wisconsin and President of the US Federation of Worker Co-ops.  Held in St. Albert, Alberta (near Edmonton), from November 7th - 9th, 2013.

CoopZone, Canada's network of co-op developers, will be offering its introductory course in co-operative development starting in late October.
The online course is aimed at people in the co-operative or community economic development sectors who would like a better understanding of the co-operative movement and the co-op development process, but who do not plan to be co-op developers themselves.
The course will begin in late October and run for approximately five months. The time commitment for completing the course is a few hours a week. Cost of the course is $1,500. To download the brochure on the introductory course, go to
The course will be taught by Peter Hough, an experienced co-op developer based in Nova Scotia. He will be holding a free, one-hour information webinar on the course on October 9th and again on October 21st, each time 12 noon Eastern time. To RSVP and get the login information for the webinar, email as soon as possible but by 5 p.m. on the day before the call.
